About Praia da Luz

Praia da Luz, 5km west of Lagos on Portugals Algarve coast, has everything you could need for a wonderful family holiday.

The beach has its own Blue Flag as well as full time professional life guards on duty all the time in the Summer months. It is great for all kinds of water sports made available by “Algarve Watersports” & “The Beach Hut”, the two centres on the beach. Several watersports can be enjoyed, including diving.

To the east, running the height of the cliffs, is the prominent black rock, known as Rocha Negra.  Several watersports can be enjoyed, including diving.

There are numerous cafes, bars, and restaurants, most of them catering for the English visitor. Quizzes and Karaoke may be on the weekly offerings at one or more bars.

There are a number of well stocked supermarkets with butchers and a fish monger.

Other amenities include a Post Office, Banks with numerous ATM machines, Newsagents.  A private clinic with English speaking staff. Chemist and various shops selling souvenirs. Church.
